Term of Service:
The appointment will be reviewed every three years by EPM UK under the auspices of the FPM Training and Assessment Committee (FPMTAC).

Eligibility:
Those eligible to stand must:

  • Hold a substantive post in the NHS or similar university appointment.
  • Have undergone satisfactory appraisal within their own trust or university or both.
  • Be affiliated to the Faculty of Pain Medicine.

Duties of the EPM UK Deputy Clinical Lead:
The principal duties of the EPM UK Deputy Clinical Lead will be to provide support to the Clinical Lead and be committed to promoting and supporting the EPM project to improve the teaching of pain medicine nationally. 

Duties of the EPM UK Deputy Clinical Lead also include:

  • Being a source of knowledge and point of contact for any healthcare staff wishing to use the EPM and/or the RAT model for teaching.
  • Encouraging the use of EPM by all healthcare staff, recognising that in most cases the Deputy Clinical Lead has no formal authority but will lead by encouragement and example.
  • Supporting the Clinical Lead in delivering local, regional, national and international EPM awareness and training sessions as the need arises.
  • Supporting the Clinical Lead in providing written reports on EPM progress within the UK and learning points from this as the need arises.
  • Reporting to EPM UK under the auspices of FPMTAC through the Clinical Lead for EPM UK.
  • Acting or liaising with the local point of contact for EPM UK activity in their specified region and feedback to the EPM UK and Regional Leads group on a regular basis.
  • Attending EPM UK Skype meetings on a quarterly basis.
