COVID-19: FPM guidelines on higher and advanced training in pain medicine

Published: 15/05/2020

The Faculty has published guidance regarding the provision of higher and advanced level pain training in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. From a recent survey, we know that higher and advanced pain trainees have had their training disrupted, and together with our parent College, it remains the FPM’s firmly held view that nobody should be penalised by the changes to their working patterns.

The statement is available here.

We would like to reassure trainees and trainers that we are actively monitoring the delivery of pain services throughout the UK and access to training through a series of surveys. We thank all those who completed our surveys to date and strongly encourage you to continue engaging with future surveys to provide the Faculty with an accurate picture of the situation on the ground.
