Appointment of FFPMRCA Examiners and Question Writers
The requirement for Appointments to the court of examiners or for question writers of the FFPMRCA examination shall be reviewed annually with recruitment activated as required by the BFPM with advice from the Executive. The size of the Court or the requirement to appoint question writers shall be determined by the BFPM on the advice of the Executive. Appointments shall be made for such a period as the BFPM may from time to time decide.
Details of the selection process and vacancies for the following academic year shall be openly advertised on this webpage, and in such other publications as the Executive may decide,in sufficient time for a list of nominations to be presented to the BFPM by a date that it shall from time to time decide
Applicants shall be assessed against the FFPM Examiner/Question Writer (as applicable) Person Specification and in addition, throughout their term of examinership or as a question writer, examiners/question writers are expected to adhere to the duties and responsibilities set out in the FFPMRCA Examiner/Question Writer Job Description. After the closing date for applications the Executive will compile a long-list of applicants who in their judgement, meets the criteria as listed in the relevant person spec. Applicants rejected at this stage shall be informed in writing of the reasons and, if appropriate, shall be invited to re-apply when they become eligible.

Term of Examinership/Question Writer term and their respective commitment
FFPMRCA Examiners are expected to complete a term of 10 years Examinership and commit at least 7 days per academic year or part time equivalent and on application have the approval from their Trust to achieve this.
FFPMRCA Question Writers are expected to complete a term of 2 years and commit at least 6 days per academic year or part time equivalent and on application have the approval from their Trust to achieve this.
New examiners will initially be appointed for a one year probationary period (including a minimum of two examinations). New Question Writers will initially be appointed for a six month probationary period.
No examiner or question writer can take up his/her appointment until he/she has successfully completed a period of training approved by the Board. Mandatory training includes: Principles of assessment and taking part in mock exams for examiners and in-depth training in the use of question banks for question writers. Examiners elect must observe each relevant exam component before examining independently. Examiners and question writers must undertake annual exam specific equality and diversity training. All examiners and question writers are subject to auditing and quality assurance of their performance.
